As we gear up for the upcoming **[Ulmo release](https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/COMM/pages/13205845/Open+edX+Release+Planning)** 🌳, we are actively looking to fill several key roles within the **[BTR Working Group](https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/COMM/pages/1022099494/Build-Test-Release+BTR+Working+Group)**. In line with our [commitment to fresh perspectives and to prevent burnout](https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/COMM/pages/4039770114/Redwood+Release+Testing+Strategy), we aim to rotate these critical positions. This is your chance to contribute to the Open edX community by stepping into one of these important roles! Here’s a brief overview of the open positions: - **🧑‍💼 Group Chair** _Currently held by_ @mgmdi The Group Chair coordinates the group’s efforts, ensuring we stay on track with release milestones and successfully maintain the current release. - **✂ Release Manager** _Currently held by_ @farhaanbukhsh Responsible for cutting a new release by following the steps in the official Open edX release process. - **🧪 Release Testing Coordinator** _Currently held by_ @aperrupato Oversees the testing of release candidates before they’re published. Testing support will be provided by the Product Working Group, so you won’t be alone! - **📄 Release Documentation Expert** _Currently held by_ @feoh Compiles important release-related info and crafts the Release Notes to accompany the major release. - **🔧 Bug Triager(s)** _Currently held by_ @bryantt-v @efortish @magajh Help prioritize and fix bugs. You’ll be working as part of the bug triaging team, so support is always available! - **🛡 Security Patcher** _Currently held by_ @Deimer Collaborates with the Security Working Group to address any security issues and ensure the release remains secure. - **🔄 Product Liaison** _Currently held by_ @Chelsea_Rathbun The Product Liaison connects the Product Working Group and BTR, ensuring clear communication on new features and default settings. They help ensure new features have tests and support regression test improvements, working closely with the Testing Coordinator. ⏳ **With Ulmo just around the corner (~2025-10-09 cut)**, we hope to fill these positions as soon as possible. Don’t worry, there will be a knowledge transfer process, and the current role holders will provide support during the transition to ensure a smooth transition. ✅ **If you already volunteered for a role or wish to continue in the same role, please confirm your participation so we can start preparing for Ulmo!** 🙌 **We need your help to make the Ulmo release a success!** If you have any questions about the roles or want to get involved, please reach out!
