To help with the maintenance burden and improve the edx-platform, we’ve been in the process of moving various xblocks out of the platform (xblocks-contrib) and consolidating blocks that don’t have maintainers (xblocks-extras) into a shared repo. The work has been lead by the Aximprovements team and so I’d like to expand their CC Rights to include both of these repos (one of which is in the process of being created). Functionally I’d like to expand the rights of: - farhan (@farhan ) - salman2013 (@Salman_Nawaz ) - irtazaakram (@Irtaza_Akram ) To have write access to the following repos: - [xblocks-contrib](https://github.com/openedx/xblocks-contrib) - xblocks-extras (to be created) Please comment before 2025-06-11T04:00:00Z to approve or share any concerns about this. ---

@sarina since this was a rights expansion, it was just a vote of lazy assent, given that there were no concerns I think this is approved. ---

@sarina you’re totally right, we’ve used lazy consensus elsewhere and I thought we had added it as a part of the CC process as well. But I see > At the end of the comment period, a candidate is approved if there are at least 5 (five) affirmative “yes” votes from current CCs, and zero “no” votes. So, I’ll update the date here a re-broadcast this with the correct expectations. ---

These folks have been doing great work on the very complicated task of extracting XBlocks from edx-platform to xblocks-contrib, while also contributing towards maintenance of many repositories. They also are already trusted CCs on edx-platform. +1 from me. ---
