# Change of site language in tutor

Hey! As per my application design, I have a requirement to update the “Site Language” in tutor using APIs. I had achieved this and I am able to update the language in the **openedx.user\_api\_userpreference** table by setting the values for “ **Key** , **Value** and **user\_id** ” fields.

But howeverm the value in the table changes when I refresh the accounts page in the LMS. Can anyone let me know how to solve this?
