# Community members looking for good-first-issue!

Hello community!

We have shortlisted some great issues that can serve as `good-first-issue` for anyone looking to make their initial contributions. Please make sure to assign the issue to yourself before starting work to avoid duplication and ensure no one else is already working on it.

Here are the selected epics:

1. [Move on from deprecated pkg\_resources API](https://github.com/openedx/public-engineering/issues/273)
2. [Drop Python 3.8 & add support for Python 3.12](https://github.com/openedx/public-engineering/issues/274)
3. [Too many console warnings in edx-platform](https://github.com/openedx/edx-platform/issues/32888)

We have recently added `hactoberfest-accepted` label to all the repos of the openedx so feel free to mark it for [Hacktoberfest](https://hacktoberfest.com/) based on [criteria](https://hacktoberfest.com/participation/)
