Course Discovery, juniper and courses with an honor seat in ecommerce

Hi
Im having a similar error to yours, im getting a Open Edx Programs: Course run is not publishable error when trying to create a program.

How did you manage to solve your “is not publishable” error?

Thanks a lot in advance

We’re not using Programs so I would not be able to answer you. Sorry. Our problem was with Honor courses no longer being taken into consideration by the latest release of Course Discovery under Juniper.

What you are experimenting might be a different problem. I would suggest creating a new thread about it. I see you did. Maybe you need to add which version of Open edX you are running.

thanks for the advice  will do.

Hi Pierre:

Did you have to configure a marketing site to solve your discovery problem?

If so
how did you do it or which documentation did you followed?

Thanks a lot  have a great weekend.

No we didn’t have to use a marketing site to solve our discovery issue.

We do use a marketing site that was developed with our friends from FUN https://github.com/openfun/richie

But it had absolutely nothing to do with our Course Discovery. It was a code change made at edX between Ironwood and Juniper that was the cause of our problem. They fixed it just before juniper.1 was released.

Thank your very much for your answer, im having a bad time trying to understand “what” is exactly a “marketing site” in Open EDx and “how” to develop it.

Its funny because if you install Devsatck it seems that there is no problem related to this marketing site.

Will keep digging

Have a great weekend.

The marketing side is where you display your courses for students to find. It’s basically a catalog.

It’s generally a different website than your LMS.

Let me give you an example with edX.

www.edx.org is their catalog.
When you access a course or login you are then redirected to courses.edx.org which is the LMS.

Or an example with our fork here at EDUlib.

catalogue.edulib.org is our marketing site or catalog based on Richie.
cours.edulib.org is our LMS.

There is no marketing website as part of Open edX.
