# Frontend-app-learner-record is seeking a new maintainer

Hello, 2U is the current maintainer of `frontend-app-learner-record`. We are no longer able to dedicate the amount of time needed to properly maintain this component to the level described in [OEP-55](https://open-edx-proposals.readthedocs.io/en/latest/processes/oep-0055-proc-project-maintainers.html) and we are seeking a new maintainer.

On 3 December 2025 if now new maintainer can be found I’ll begin putting through the deprecation and removal process.

How tied to the credentials service is this MFE? Is it ideal that the same person/people maintain both?

the backend data provider that it calls is `credentials`. Arguably it no more needs to be maintained by the same people than any MFE that uses edx-platform needs to be maintained in unison with edx-platform, you know? Sometimes bug fixes happen conjointly but that shouldn’t really affect the maintainer.
