# Is there a way for an instructor to be notified when a student posts on the forums?

Is there a way for an instructor to be notified when a student posts on the forums? As of right now I only see a thing about students getting emails if someone replies to them ([4.15. Enabling Discussion Notifications — Installing, Configuring, and Running the Open edX Platform documentation](https://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/edx-installing-configuring-and-running/en/latest/configuration/enable_discussion_notifications.html)). But I’m interested in how the instructor can more easily find out someone’s posted in the first place, so they can know to reply.
