# Unable to create Timed exam - tutor 16.0.5 on ubuntu

Hello,  
I’m new to edx. I installed tutor 16.0.5 on ubuntu, wanted to create a timed exam. I was following [this](https://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/edx-partner-course-staff/en/latest/course_features/timed_exams.html#set-a-subsection-to-be-timed), but can’t find the ‘Advanced tab’ on the UI. What am I missing? BTW, I did enable timed exam in the course settings.

Hi @samit,

Could you please check below flag value in tutor shell? it should to be true.  
FEATURES[‘ENABLE\_SPECIAL\_EXAMS’]

If True then, just enable timed exam from studio with the below path and you will find the timed exam in course outline settings.

Studio\> Select Course\> Settings\> Advanced Settings\> Enable Timed Exams

That worked, thanks! I enabled ENABLE\_SPECIAL\_EXAMS feature in cms.env.yml and lms.env.yml.
