Historically there have been two different way to override some common static pages that go along with any given website (about page, FAQ, privacy policy, terms of service). We’re getting rid of the oldest version of this which relied on overriding pages in the edx-platform repo via comprehensive theming. You can still use the MKTG_URLS setting to point to any public marketing site you might have where you also host those sorts of pages.
