We’re excited to share something we’ve been building at Blend-ed – a free AI-powered Course Creator designed specifically for the Open edX platform.
What It Does:
- Generate complete .tar.gz course packages for Open edX Platforms
- Accepts simple prompts or document uploads (PDFs, slide decks)
- Lets you prompt:
- Tone of the course
- Target audience
- Learning objectives
- Content types: Text, quizzes, images, video suggestions
- Outputs are editable: you can tweak the outline, rename modules, or prompt the AI to make improvements
- Fully importable into Open edX Studio for further editing
How to Use:
- Visit the tool at https://www.blend-ed.com/openedx-ai-course-creator (no login required)
- Enter a prompt or upload a document
- Select content options
- Hit generate
- Prompt to make changes to the course plan or add/delete/modify sections, subsections and units.
- Click on Download / Receive the course via email as a .tar.gz file
The whole process takes about 6 minutes.
Free to Use
This tool is free to use for the community — at least until we run out of our AI tokens
