Hey everyone! I’d like to introduce the beta version of the Universal Open edX Mobile App. The idea is simple: add your LMS to the directory — and it shows up in the mobile app right away, with your branding and settings. No forks, no separate builds, no store submissions. The barrier to entry for…

I’ve wanted to see something like this for a while, so congrats! Is it open source? What’s the business model?

Note that there was a discussion of this in the last TOC meeting that @e0d posted, with more details about the project: 2026-03-11 Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) Meeting Notes

Sorry, but unless I’m missing something, neither the TOC meeting notes nor @Ivan_Stepanok 's response above say anything about whether or not it’s open source nor who would pay for it, or if it would eventually cost money to be listed as one of the LMSs in the directory after the beta period is over…

Hi Steven, Can you share an OAuthID via DM on Slack or email? ivan.stepanok@raccoongang.com You can create a temporary OAuth, or we can make a call and try to register LMS together. Also, I didn’t see any problems with Testflight and installed it right now from this link: Join the OpenEdX U beta …

@Ivan_Stepanok Now surely the message must be valid: **This beta isn’t accepting any new testers right now. ** I managed to register our testing instance successfully, yet it seems the testing app is full.

I hope it will be an official Open edX app on the App Store and Google Play, but right now it depends on community interest.
