Hello,
In the footer of Open edX there is a navbar menu which has “About”, “Contact”, “Blog” and “Donate”. Please can you tell me how to change these messages.

It would be doable by activating comprehensive theming and overriding related files. I think footer.html is what you need to change. You can learn more about comprehensive theming in the following two articles.
