Core Product Working Group – Biweekly Meeting Thread

Hi everyone!

This thread is where we’ll share info about the Core Product Working Group meetings.

We’re working to make the Open edX learning experience better for both educators and learners. But we can’t do it alone. We need input from the people who use these tools in the real world. Your voice helps us shape smarter, more effective tools that work for actual teaching and learning.

When do we meet?

Why join?

  • Teach with Open edX
  • Build or design courses
  • Support educators or learners
  • Have ideas (or frustrations!) about how things could work better

What’s on the agenda?

  • Open edX Notifications MVP
    @aayub and @ali_hugo will give a walk-through of the edX notifications feature; a tool that helps keep learners and instructors up to date on course activity. We’ll discuss whether bringing this feature into Open edX as-is would be a good first step, or if we should take a different approach.

  • Product Proposal Review Process Update
    @Mahnoor_Sarwat and @Cassie will share a brief overview of the updated process for reviewing product proposals. After the meeting, we’ll open it up for async feedback with a set deadline, then refine based on the comments
