We plan to deprecate and remove the allow_certificates field of the UserProfile model in edx-platform. We are targeting removal after March 1st, 2021.
Please read [DEPR-140] Remove `allow_certificates` field of UserProfile model - JIRA for more information and to post any questions/comments. The proposed deadline for comments before acceptance is February 16th, 2021.
