Hello.

We plan to deprecate and remove the coupling of a user’s email activation with Django’s user.is_active.

Please read [DEPR]: User email activation check in user.is_active · Issue #165 · openedx/public-engineering · GitHub for more information and to post any questions/comments. The proposed deadline for comments before acceptance is 2022-12-23.

Once the ticket is accepted, removal can happen at any time.
