Looking for presenters for the next Open edX Meetups!

Hello Open edX Community!

We’re planning to have our next Open edX virtual meetups on Thursday, October 22 and Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 10:00am Eastern time (). These will be done via Zoom webinar.

We’re looking for presentation submissions from anyone who would like to: discuss or demo a new feature, provide platform updates, highlight real world Open edX use cases, etc. These meetups are great opportunities to call attention to big things happening in the community.

We’ll likely have 2 presenters per meetup–between 30-45 min each with Q&A–though timing can be likely be adjusted if needed (e.g. the topic requires less or more time).

If you’re interested, please respond below with the following:

  1. The topic you would like to present on
  2. Which of the dates listed above works best for you

Thanks, all - looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Note: If you’d like to present at a meetup aside from these 2 upcoming events, please let us know so we can make sure to note it for future dates!

Yes, I am interested

@Michelle_Philbrick we provided a few weeks ago a speaker list including contacts to @Samuelsbestie via Slack.

She wanted to contact with them directly in order to grant specific slots to them.

The speakers we proposed are among others:

If you want, we would be more than happy to get in touch with them and ask for their availability for the upcoming Meetup in October and December.

Thanks, @Nicole_Kessler! That would be great. Please forward any info to myself and Annie (acellini@axim.org).

Hi @Alemayehu! Just to clarify, are you interested in presenting, or attending?

Hey @Michelle_Philbrick I put you in contact with all three prospective speakers directly via email today.

Yes, exactly, I am interested

Thank you so much!

Great! Is there a topic you have in mind to present?

Hi @Michelle_Philbrick,

OpenCraft has been working with ASU to explore what an open-source proctoring solution could look like. I see that Talview presented its proctoring solution at the June meetup, but our approach would be different in that the solution would be open source.

We haven’t built anything yet, as we’re still gathering community feedback and looking for potential co-funders for what would be a pretty large undertaking.

Do you think this would be a good fit for the Meetup format?
