This is really picky but, we noticed the German translations mix informal and formal (du / Sie) language. What is the process of patching the text? For example, I have located the translation I would like to change (link below). How does this work?
I think making a PR is the obvious approach, but what is the point of using transifex then. I joined the transifex project, made a suggestion–now what? Does anyone know anything about the approval process? I have only a vague idea how the process works from the repository’s README.md. I guess once someone approves it in transifex, it gets auto downloaded into the repository. Then I must rebuild the openedx image to grab the changes.
Those translations are updated from Transifex on a regular basis, so if you fix something directly in git it will just be overwritten the next time translations are updated. They’ll need to be updated in Transifex instead.
It’s probably worth opening a discussion in #wg-translations in the openedx Slack. In particular, it would be good to get some consensus around where formal and informal should be used. (I think there might be a place to put guidance for translators for each language.)
