Build-Test-Release (BTR) Throughout June 2026, the (BTR) Working Group focused on preparing the Verawood release, confirming the June 23 target while driving testing efforts, coordinating Testathons, and tracking release blockers. Test coverage steadily increased from less than 1% to 95.6%, with the team prioritizing bug triage, documentation, and release-critical fixes. As the release approached, the group adopted a strict Go/No-Go process, agreeing that Verawood would only ship once test completion exceeded 80% and all release blockers were resolved. Although the testing goal was achieved, the release was postponed to allow remaining blockers to be addressed and retested. In parallel, the working group launched an initiative to improve long-term quality by creating a dedicated end-to-end (E2E) testing repository, laying the groundwork for automated Playwright-based testing in future Open edX releases. Governance WG During this period, the Contributions Review Spring Cleaning Hackathon continued to gain momentum, doubling participation from 9 to 18 contributors and expanding its review scope. The initiative successfully reduced the OSPR backlog, increasing the number of closed stale PRs while maintaining active review of remaining contributions. With the hackathon approaching its end, the focus remained on clearing outstanding PRs and encouraging broader community participation.
