Hello Everyone,
We have recently upgraded our LMS from the Quince to the latest Sumac release. The primary reason for the upgrade was to leverage the new Aspects analytics tool for advanced analytics and reporting.
However, we have encountered a major roadblock while attempting to backfill old data (users, courses, enrollments, and other historical data) into Aspects. According to the Aspects documentation, backfilling requires old tracking logs, which we no longer have due to a mistake—our team deleted the tracking logs from our servers to free up space.
Issue:
We do not have access to the tracking logs for older data, and this has created a challenge in backfilling historical data into Aspects.
Questions:
- Is there an alternative way to backfill data into Aspects without the tracking logs?
- Can data be reconstructed from the LMS database or other sources? If so, how can this be done?
- Are there any tools, scripts, or best practices that could help us resolve this issue?
Any guidance, suggestions, or solutions from the community would be highly appreciated. We aim to provide our client with a fully functional analytics platform without losing the value of their historical data.
Thank you in advance for your help and expertise!
