Looking for work: Instructional designers, video team, and technologist

Three of our instructional technology managers were laid off recently due to financial cutbacks. These are some of the most skilled, most experienced people in this field. These are people who have guided the creation of courses on data science, chemistry, digital health, women’s history, rhetoric, global health care, mechanical ventilation for COVID, economics, and a dozen other topics. They can teach your teams how to use edX, they can interface with faculty, and they know their jobs inside and out. They are genuinely among the best in the world.

Also laid off were a videographer, a video editor, and a video team manager. Each of them comes with stellar recommendations and a portfolio of excellent work, including documentaries, animation, and museum installations.

Finally, I myself intend to leave the university later this year. My situation is a little more specific: I’m looking for full-time work in Canada. My partner and I are aiming for Montréal, but would take a position in Halifax or working remotely. (I am not yet a citizen, but do speak French at about a B2 level.) Currently I am HarvardX’s Manager of Instructional Technology. My team members are the folks who take Google Docs and make them into working courses across multiple platforms. I not only oversee and troubleshoot their work, but also create Javascript interactives for our courses, teach accessibility, consult with leadership on tech and AI, write scripts to process OLX in Python, and have created courses across multiple STEM disciplines. I am the author for the technical portions of Studio Advanced, the advanced training course for edX Studio.

All of us are experienced, mission-driven people. We care deeply about education and helping others and we have a great track record of doing exactly that. If your team has any need for a senior instructional designer or manager, or for a media expert, send me a message or respond here and we’ll make some connections.
