My course does NOT show up under "Discover new" in openedx

I created another course in OpenEDX (https://edutrain.nfdi4earth.de/courses/course-v1:NFDI4Earth+CTCS+20240801/about) and it shows up on the home page https://edutrain.nfdi4earth.de, but NOT in the “discover new” section when I am logged in. All the other courses are there and I don’t see any difference in the course settings. Can you give me a hint how to make it also visible under “discover new”?
I checked already:

  • Course Visibility In Catalog: both
  • Course Is New: true

The only thing which looks different compared to the other courses: on the studio home page, all the other courses show “self-paced” as the third attribute, my new course has a date “20240801” there. But I don’t know how this happened, and I can’t change it, although the course is self-paced, too.
Thank you and best regards!
Remon

It should appear in discover new anyhow. Try reindexing the course or making sure it is not expired in the course outline.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I get an error clicking on “Reindex” so I will ask the administrator to have a look in the log files.

Hi,
Have you found a solution? I’m having the same issue. My course isn’t showing up in “Discover new” even though “Course Visibility In Catalog” is set to both and “Course Is New” is true. I’m using Tutor 18.1.1, and the course is self-paced.

Hi, we found out that the (re)indexing does not work because of no disk space left. Everytime I hit the “reindex” button of the course I get an undefined error message, but in the error logs we found the following error: "TOO_MANY_REQUESTS/12/disk usage exceeded flood-stage watermark, index has read-only-allow-delete block ". That means: the hard disk is full. But we did not solve this problem yet.

Hey, try pruning containers and volumes you arent using. if that doesnt work, just request more space
