Restructuring the course

Im trying to restructure my course.

Currently the structure is as follows:

I don’t actually want or need a subsection - I would prefer to just put the unit consisting of the course slides in the section - like this:

How can I do this?

EdX has a fixed number of hierarchy levels. Within each course, you have…

  • Sections
    • Subsections
      • Units (individual pages)
        • Components

Unfortunately, It sounds like you want to change the number of hierarchy levels, which edX does not allow. There’s no way to present a unit that’s not in a subsection. Even if you write the course in XML, if you set your XML up that way it won’t get validated.
