Ubuntu Upgrade Completed*

It’s my pleasure to report that we have completed the Ubuntu upgrade on all libraries and services in the openedx github org.

All repos support at least Ubuntu 22.04 and since most repos are agnostic of the underlying OS, they are now simply testing with the latest version of Ubuntu and should work with any OS where the correct version of python and node are supplied.

For all top-level Django services that are a part of the Open edX Community release, they support running with Ubuntu 24.04 except for edx-platform which supports running on Ubuntu 22.04 as of the closing of this issue.

@tutor-maintainers if you have not already done so, please update any relevant aspects of tutor so that the services are running on the correct versions of the supported OSes.

Thanks for the update. Tutor maintainers have merged most of the PRs in nightly already. We will be getting the remaining as soon as possible. You can see the status on Ubuntu Upgrade · Issue #1113 · overhangio/tutor · GitHub.
