Calling All Community Members to Test the Verawood Release!

April 23th is the official cut date for our next named release: Verawood!
We thoroughly test every release candidate before launch to ensure the Open edX versions you install are stable, reliable, and ready for production.

You’re invited to help!
No matter your role in the Open edX community if you’ve ever used the platform as a learner, instructor, developer, or admin you’re fully qualified to be a tester!

How to join?
It’s easy!

  1. Review the “Getting Started” section in the Verawood Release Testing Spreadsheet to understand the process.

  2. Browse the available test cases in the “Verawood Tests” tab and add your name in the “Assigned To” column for the test you’d like to run (this helps us avoid duplicate efforts!).

  3. Visit our dedicated testing sandbox, run the test, and log your results directly in the spreadsheet.

  4. If you find a bug, please file an issue in this GitHub repository. Our community product managers and engineers will triage and fix it.

The spreadsheet includes links to the sandbox, a quick-start cheat sheet, and everything you need to get started. (We are working on the spreadsheet yet)

Hi @Maria_de_los_Angeles - I edited your post to clarify that the tests need to be done by June 20th, not April 23rd.

Also just a note to anyone reading that the tests cannot begin until we have a sandbox available, which will likely be a bit after April 23rd.
