CC rights expansion: Bryann Valderrama

Hi everyone,

I’d like to nominate Bryann Valderrama (@bryantt-v on Discuss, @BryanttV on GitHub) to extend his committer rights to openedx-platform.

Bryann has been a Core Contributor since 2025 and has worked on several parts of Open edX. Besides openedx-platform and openedx-authz, he has contributed to events, filters and release tools, authoring and educator documentation.

He has also led AuthZ initiatives, helping organize the work and bring it into the platform. He writes code, contributes to design discussions, reviews PRs, and tests changes. You can find more of his work across the Open edX organization.

On a more personal note, Bryann and I have worked closely together on AuthZ and quite a few other projects over the years. I’ve really enjoyed working with him and seeing him take on more responsibility and lead technical work. After sharing so much work, this nomination means a lot to me. I’d be very happy to see him continue contributing to openedx-platform with expanded committer rights, and I think this would be a well-deserved next step.

I have worked with @bryantt-v a lot. He’s been a co-maintainer of events and filters and he’s always been a reliable partner to work with. Lately he’s been leading a lot of authz work so I’m very happy to see him taking on more community roles. I vote yes to this nomination.
