Customize templates in custom theme with new translation strings

Hello,

we want to customize certain aspects of the openedx theme. To that end, we have a fork of GitHub - overhangio/tutor-indigo: An elegant, customizable theme for Open edX.

To be specific, we want to change the “Courses” translatable string to “My courses” in edx-platform/navbar-authenticated.html at master · openedx/edx-platform · GitHub

My understanding is that we can add our custom navbar-authenticated.html to https://github.com/overhangio/tutor-indigo/tree/master/tutorindigo/templates/indigo/lms/templates/header/ in our fork, however we would need to introduce a new translatable string (since we have our site in multiple languages). How can that be done?
