The second meeting for the data working group is set for 2021-10-28T13:00:00Z → 2021-10-28T14:00:00Z

The meeting will take place on Zoom with the details below. It will also be recorded, with the recording being posted on this thread when it is available.

A tentative agenda for the meeting is:

  • Make a decision on ElasticSearch vs OpenSearch for the future releases of Open edX
  • Determine viability of adopting Figures as an out-of-the-box option for course analytics
  • Document high level components needed to power a community supported analytics capability for Open edX

Thanks to everyone who joined today! I’ve uploaded the meeting recordings and transcripts to Google Drive. Let me know if there’s a preferred location for those to go. You can find them at Open edX Data WG - Google Drive

We will stick with the same time for the next meeting unless anyone needs to shift to a different day/time. Currently that puts us at 2021-11-11T14:00:00Z → 2021-11-11T15:00:00Z

I just realized that the 11th is actually Veteran’s Day in the US so I and I’m sure other folks in the states will be unavailable. 2 weeks from now is also Thanksgiving in the US so I propose shifting by 1 week and rescheduling the next meeting to be 2021-11-18T14:00:00Z → 2021-11-18T15:00:00Z. Let me know if that works for everyone or if we should aim for a different day/time.

One of the major action items for this group and the broader community is to collect the set of metrics that are needed to make sense of how the platform is being used.
