Deprecation/Removal: Devstack usage of NFS and docker-sync

Hi there,

We plan to deprecate and remove docker-sync and NFS support from Devstack since they are no longer needed.

Please read [DEPR-161] Remove NFS support from Devstack - JIRA and [DEPR-162] Remove support for docker-sync in Devstack - JIRA for more information and to post any questions/comments. The proposed deadline for comments before acceptance is July 21, 2021.

Once the ticket is accepted, removal can happen at any time.

How this may affect you:

Are you using NFS for devstack? Do your devstack commands include nfs?

  • You need to reprovision without NFS before it is removed from devstack (master branch) in the next couple of weeks.

Are you using docker-sync?

  • You simply need to stop using the sync commands.

Hello! Both NFS and docker-sync have been officially removed from devstack. If you have been using NFS, you will need to reprovision without NFS before pulling the latest master.
