I’ve created new testing branches in the repos: open-release/juniper.rc2
This is still not the start of the Juniper master branches. This is a named snapshot for coordinated testing. Known problems are documented in the open Jira tickets in the Juniper epic: https://openedx.atlassian.net/browse/CRI-171
I found a problem migrating from ironwood.master to juniper.rc2 while testing today:

It is of a class of difficulty that has bitten me more than once in the past. I suggest making this part of some sort of official release checklist. Not sure there’ll be time to fix it before cutting the release.
