Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing for a role that heavily involves working with Open edX and related project management tools, and I’ve noticed that JIRA tends to come up quite frequently in job descriptions—especially in roles involving large-scale LMS implementations or custom Open edX deployments.
As part of my interview prep, I’m trying to put together a solid list of Jira interview questions that are commonly asked in the context of EdTech or technical project management. While there are plenty of general JIRA questions floating around the internet, I’m particularly interested in ones that are more relevant to workflows used in Open edX development, community contributions, bug tracking, sprint planning, or agile methodology as used in educational technology projects.
Some examples of what I’m looking for:
- How JIRA integrates with GitHub or other version control systems when working with Open edX?
- How to create and manage epics/stories/tasks specifically for large-scale LMS rollouts?
- Best practices for using JIRA dashboards and filters to manage multiple course development timelines?
- Common pitfalls or misuses of JIRA in EdTech team environments?
If anyone has recently gone through interviews for Open edX-related roles or has experience managing such projects, I’d love to hear your insights! Bonus points if you can share any real-world scenarios or situational questions that interviewers tend to ask.
Thanks in advance to this awesome community!
