Greetings,
I want to integrate Open edX LMS for my online school k12. I have lots of questions:
1- which web hosting is recommended for this LMS and suitable for online school k12?
2-In case I have another LMS that has some curriculum, how this Open edX LMS can be in same website which this website has previous LMS. To be clear, the website has Agilix Buzz lms for some courses. This website needs another lms ( which I want it Open edX) for other courses. There is a reason that this online school needs two lms. I just want to know can be integrate Open edX to the website that already integrate with another lms?
Thank you
Hi @Eman_A
Welcome to the community!
- I mostly use AWS but you can use other cloud providers like Google, Microsoft, OVH, et cetera. You can even install on-premise.
- Is it possible to just use Open edX® platform and move your other existing courses to the Open edX® platform instead? What features are you trying to make use of?
I think it would depend what you mean by integration. Could you provide more details about the integration?
Thank you Dean for your replay. Can I use namecheap dedicated server for hosting Open edX?. I meant by Integration : like any online school that use LMS in their websites, for the courses, assessments… , track students progress, and their marks…
For now I have to use two LMS the reason: there are some ready courses and they should come with another LMS, and there are other courses that the school will create and we want Open edX® to use for our created courses.
Do you know some examples that are using Open edX in their websites? Just to see in real life.
Also does the school need to use two hosting one for the website and another host for Open edX LMS?
Thank you
Hi @Eman_A
Q: Can I use namecheap dedicated server for hosting Open edX?
A: I guess you can, I have not used it before. As long as you have minimum 8GB server.
Q: Also does the school need to use two hosting one for the website and another host for Open edX LMS?
A: The Open edX® platform includes a landing home page, which is customisable. However, in your case you probably want a fully-fledged marketing website that is more easily customisable (like WordPress for example) in front of your Open edX® platform. You should host on different servers in that case.
There are many ways to do things, and you can choose the path that makes the most sense to you. I suggest reaching out to an Open edX® Partner to help with the project: Open edX platform installation and hosting Archives - Open edX
Thank you for this information, I’m trying to find from the partner link you sent , one who can help in install and customize but without subscription. This way is more affordable than subscription based system, as its lifelong learning.
