Problem with admin and staff accounts being labeled as "student"

I am the instructor of a course and I am listed as staff and as admin. But when I reply to students in the discussion board, and they click on my profile, it says I am a student. This is really misleading. Is there a way to change my profile so it is obvious that I’m the instructor?

I tried to see if maybe being enrolled was confusing the system that I was a student and overriding staff/admin. When I unenrolled myself from the student list, that just took me out of the course completely, even though I am still listed as the admin/staff. (I have two admin accounts for testing things, so I can check this.) I can re-enroll in the course (even though it is by invitation only) so that’s good I guess, but it still tells the students that I’m a student, and I am not.

Is there a way to fix this?

Go to your Instructor Dashboard > Membership:

Then scroll down to the very bottom of the page:

Then grant the Discussion Admin permission from the dropdown menu.

Okay thank you. That was an easy fix. I can’t believe I didn’t try that. =)
