My university is not an edx partner and is not officially using Open edx. I have myself installed an instance of open edx for testing and learning to know. My university has Canvas as the official lms, however we consider using Open edx as courseware for courses which are expected to be reused, connecting courses to Canvas through LTI. This is one of the things I have experimentetd with, and it seems to work very well.
