I’m encountering a strange issue with YouTube videos embedded via the Video XBlock in my Open edX instance.
When I add a YouTube video to a course unit using the Video XBlock and load the page in the LMS, the video player appears correctly with the play button overlay. However:
- Clicking the play button does nothing—the video doesn’t start.
- If I click directly inside the video area (which is the embedded YouTube iframe), the video starts playing normally.
- After refreshing the page, the play button stops working again, and I have to click inside the iframe to play it.
I’ve checked the developer console (F12), and here’s a screenshot showing the errors/warnings that appear when clicking the play button. This seems specific to YouTube
