Core Contributor Nomination: Daniel Wong

Hi everyone!

I’d like to nominate @dan.wong for a Core Contributor role as a Code Contributor to the following repositories:

  • openedx-platform
  • openedx-authz

Commitment: Daniel, a member of the WGU team, has been focused exclusively on the Open edX project for about a year and will be contributing full-time to the Open edX project.

Caliber: In that time he’s made 65 pull requests to various repositories. His code is consistently of high quality.

We feel he is well prepared to become a CC on openedx-platform because he’s shown great understanding of API boundaries and is a comprehensive reviewer. For authz, he’s been able to jump in and orient to the project in the midst of tight deadlines. He’s been helpful on the openedx-core project, as well.

Conduct: Daniel is a prolific code reviewer (he’s been involved in over 130 PRs). He consistently provides constructive feedback in a helpful and respectful manner.

Comment Period: Please provide comments/feedback on Daniel’s nomination before 7 May, 2026. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to support this nomination however I can!
