Nominating Maria Gabriela Giorgianni as Core Contributor for OpenedX

Hello everyone,

I would like to nominate Maria Gabriela Giorgianni (@magajh) as an Open edX Core Contributor, specifically as a Code Contributor & maintainer for the user_util repository, which currently does not have a listed maintainer.

Mariagabriela has been working with Open edX since 2021 and has extensive experience with the platform, and over the years, she has made contributions across multiple areas of the project.

Here are some of her contributions to the Open edX organization:

  • Issues reported: check here
  • Pull requests she has contributed: check here
  • Discuss profile: check here

Beyond code contributions, Mariagabriela is also part of the Security Working Group. She currently serves as a Security Patcher for the Build-Test-Release Working Group and has recently stepped up as a Bug Triager for the BTR as well.

Her experience, technical knowledge, and ongoing commitment to Open edX make her a great candidate for the Core Contributor role. I look forward to hearing the community’s thoughts on this nomination!

I am in favor of this nomination :+1: it’s always been great to work with Maga!

I also vote yes. I have worked with @magajh for years and have seen her amply demonstrate the commitment, caliper and conduct that this community values.

Same here, excited to see her also taking on some maintainership. :+1:

+1 from me as well.

100% yes! I’d be great to have you as a maintainer. Thanks for all the hard work!

Awesome job! Definitely a +1 from me! :sparkles:

:+1: from me too!

Hi all! I forgot to mention the deadline and the number of votes required for this nomination. @magajh obtained more than 5 votes in the past 5 days since this post creation, which means her nomination is accepted! I created an issue here to ask for the required permissions. Thanks for voting.

@jhony_avella the comment period needs to be open for at least two weeks as per OEP-54.

That means the comment period should be open until at least 19 March. Could you please edit your main post with that date?
