I would like to nominate Eddie Byun for a Core Contributor role as a Product Manager!
Eddie has consistently delivered high-impact contributions to both product and design efforts in the Open edX Mobile space. His work goes beyond visual design - he brings a strategic, systems-level mindset that enhances the user experience while also improving team workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
Eddie has driven product infrastructure improvements. He proposed and documented an improved Paragon Color Palette, which will help ensure design consistency across Open edX products, and led a Mobile GitHub Projects reorganization initiative to streamline project tracking and visibility. These efforts demonstrate Eddie’s proactive approach and his deep understanding of the broader ecosystem we work in.
Eddie has significantly shaped the mobile user experience through his thoughtful design of features like the Course Content View and Course Progress View, which are vital to the platform and are moving into implementation. His designs are always user-focused, documented, and mindful of the technical handoff process, which has made collaboration with developers seamless.
Eddie regularly participates in design syncs and contributes thoughtful feedback in design review sessions. He brings a collaborative spirit and consistently looks for ways to make our design processes more open, inclusive, and scalable.
