Today and with great pleasure I’d like to nominate Marco Morales (@marcotuts) to be a Core Contributor in the Product Manager role.

Marco has been a long time contributor in the Open edX project. For almost 10 years at edX where he went from Open edX Lead to Group Product Manager in teaching and learning to Director of Product in the platform area. In all this time, he has demonstrated exemplary dedication and expertise in the development of the product, and his continued commitment to advancing the principles of the Open edX project which is truly commendable.

Lately, Marco has continued with product related work through his recent development of a Mobile Product Strategy Backlog. You can see some of that work in these links:

I’d like you to consider Marco for the Core Contributor program. The voting period will be open for the next two weeks, through Friday 28 April.

I’ve had the pleasure of working on a team with Marco, and can attest that he has a remarkable breadth and depth of understanding when it comes to the Open edX product and its use cases. He is also quite knowledgeable about the technical implementation of the platform’s teaching and learning capabilities. Strong :+1: from me.

It feels backward - it should probably be @marcotuts nominating us for these types of roles, given his track record. :stuck_out_tongue: Definitely a big YES! :+1: It’s great news for the Open edX community that you’re back working among us Marco.

Given that @marcotuts is a new core contributor I don’t think that an engineering ticket is the way to go.
