I’d like to nominate @Irtaza_Akram to the core contributor program with write access to the following repos to start:
edx-platform
.github
repo-tools
@Irtaza_Akram has been working as a part of the Aximprovements team to suport maintenance, deprecation and incremental
improvements across multiple axim maintained repos as well as edx-platform.
Irtaza was previously on the 2U Arbi-BOM team where he worked on maintenance across the platform, since joining the Aximprovements team at Axim, he has be taking initiative to do proactive improvements in the XBlock repo as well as various other repos that Axim maintains.
Irtaza will be working 40hrs/week on the Open edX project.
The comment period is open from 2024-05-17T04:00:00Z→2024-05-31T04:00:00Z
from me – @Irtaza_Akram 's contributions show the 3 C’s
@feanil For this and your other Aximprovements nominees, I thought that Axim-funded time didn’t count towards CC time? We’ve said that blended projects don’t count, but I don’t know how it’s supposed to work for Axim employees.
@jill this is a full time team similar to the Axim Eng team, and so as much as possible we’ve tried to operate the full time folks like CCs even though that is not strictly required. We bootstrapped this team with some access to do routine maintenance on Axim maintained repos but want to make sure all further access expansions happen with them as CCs unless there is a good reason to not follow this process.
Probably a different discussion but I think I would like to amend that to, time spent on FC work funded by Axim doesn’t count on its own, but does count if the individual is committing to spend non-funded time working on or (especially) maintaining repo(s) that the FC project bootstrapped them into having a deep knowledge of.
As with the other Aximprovements nominations the commitment is clear and @Irtaza_Akram work already shows caliper and conduct. This is a yes vote from me.
