I’d like to nominate @jacobo for a Core Contributor role as a Code Contributor to frontend-apps and Maintainer to frontend-app-account and frontend-app-profile :partying_face:

Commitment: Jacobo, a member of the WGU team :owl:, has been focused exclusively on the Open edX project since April and will be contributing full-time to the Open edX project.

Caliber: In that time he’s made pull requests to various repositories. His code contributions are consistently high-quality. He is constantly contributing on the effort to clean and modernize Open Edx Frontend repos with modern best practices. For example:

Conduct: Jacobo is a thoughtful code reviewer. He’s been involved in over 30 PRs, consistently providing thorough feedback in a helpful and respectful manner. For example:

@jacobo has already shown Core Contributor–level ownership and care in his work across the frontend ecosystem. His recent contributions to the frontend-base conversions and his ongoing work to modernize testing practices demonstrate both technical strength and a long-term mindset for the platform.

Jacobo is absolutely a talented developer, and is always respectful in communications as a PR reviewer and reviewee.

His work shows that he cares about the health of the frontend codebase and community. Those are definitely qualities that are wonderful to see in a maintainer!
