frontend-app-instruct: the new, native frontend-base app that implements the Instructor Dashboard
I also nominate him as Code Contributor to any frontend-app repositories that are undergoing frontend-base conversions, but with write access explicitly limited to the corresponding frontend-base branches (until they merge with the main branches, at which point he’ll have write access to the entire repos). For now, this means he’d have write access to the following:
Commitment: Javier, a member of the WGU team, has been focused exclusively on the Open edX project since the first half of 2025 and is contributing full-time to the Open edX project.
Caliber: In that time he’s made pull requests to various repositories, not limited to frontend-base itself, but including two full conversions to frontend-base, something which requires a deep understanding of the architecture:
The two latter PRs are still in progress, but they’ve been held up by circumstances outside Javier’s control. This is actually a big reason why he’s being nominated: we feel he’s more than ready to start leading, reviewing, and merging frontend-base conversions himself, and to thus help move frontend-base work forward more quickly.
Conduct: Javier is a prolific code reviewer (he’s been involved in over 30 PRs). He consistently provides constructive feedback in a helpful and respectful manner.
Comment Period: Please provide comments/feedback on Jacobo’s nomination before December 24, 2025. I’ll be happy to address any questions or concerns.
