Core Contributor Nomination - Muhammad Tayyab Tahir Qureshi

Hi Everyone!

I would like to nominate @ttqureshi for the Core Contributor program, with write access to the following repo to start:

Tayyab has made significant contributions to the Open edX ecosystem, including:

  • Leading efforts on the Python 3.11 and 3.12 upgrade epic
  • Extracting the LTI Block from the edx-platform into the xblocks-contrib repository (relevant PR)
  • Contributing to architectural research and discussions focused on xblocks xml parsing logic in the edx-platform (relevant story)
  • Actively collaborating with the Aximprovements team through numerous pair programming and brainstorming sessions

Commitment

@ttqureshi has been working 40 hrs/week to Open edX as part of the Aximprovements team for the past year, and he intends to continue with the same level of commitment.

I have worked with Tayyab Qureshi in extracting blocks into a separate repository. He has done a great job and successfully extracted the LTI block code from edx-platform into xblocks-contrib.

It’s been a good experience collaborating with Tayyab in multiple Open edX milestones specifically Django 5.2 support. He will be a good asset to the core contributors group so +1 from my side too.
