I’d like to nominate @Kelly_Buchanan for a Core Contributor role as a Maintainer for frontend-app-learner-dashboard, and a Contributor for frontend-plugin-notifications, edx-platform, and edx-ace.
Commitment: Kelly, a 2U employee, has been contributing to the project since 2021.
Caliber: Kelly’s work is frequently behind-the-scenes.
She has been a member of the Open Source Process WG, and was one of the creators of proposals such as OEP-0055.
She has reviewed numerous PRs in repos including credentials, credentials-themes, openedx-events, edx-platform, frontend-app-{authn,profile,learner-record,communications,support-tools,learning}, open-edx-proposals, edx-ace, and paragon. (example)
She helped shepherd the Frontend Plugin Framework over the finish line and led her team to creating the first MFE conversion to using the FPF (learner dashboard).
Conduct: Kelly guarantees that her reports are aware of their responsibilities to the open source community. She has led her teams’ contributions to the open source community, removal of proprietary code from open source repositories, and creations of documentation.

I am pleased to endorse Kelly for the Core Contributor role. Having worked with her, I can confidently say that she consistently delivers high-quality work and always meets expectations. Ah great! It’s a good occasion to finally recognize all the work you have done for the project and the community @Kelly_Buchanan. It hasn’t always been visible, but you have done a lot to keep the open source project and the 2U team in sync, and it has been really important, especially the transitions phases. As Deborah describes, a lot of Kelly’s community work is behind the scenes, but I happen to have witnessed a good chunk of it. In short, she shares in all of the Aperture team’s great contributions (including but not limited to frontend plugin slots in Learner Dashboard and the implementation of Frontend Plugin Framework itself), and I trust her to make the best possible decisions as a maintainer of the listed repositories.
I might be coming in late, but I also vote yes. I think Kelly has proved over and over the values we seek in core contributors. Thank you for the previous contributions and looking forward to what comes now.
