Core Contributor Rights Expansion: Kira Miller

Hello Everyone! Following the procedure outlined in OEP-54, I would like to nominate myself (Kira Miller - kiram15) to become a new core contributor in the openedx-filters repository

Rationale

I am a senior software developer on the Enterprise team at 2U, and started at edX 5 years ago! The enterprise team is an active consumer of this repository, and have become significant contributors through our work to convert openedx/edx-enterprise into a plugin using the existing Open edX plugin framework (https://discuss.openedx.org/t/rfc-pluginifying-edx-enterprise-looking-for-community-interest-collaborators/18316).

Contribution History

Note: With this epic coinciding with our team gaining Claude access, all PRs were created as draft PRs credited to pwnage101. Open PRs that were generated but unreviewed and unmerged are listed below.

kiram15 contributions: PR #351, PR #348, PR #333

Rationale for Expansion

  1. I have demonstrated vested engagement with the repository through multiple pull requests implementing significant new features and bug fixes.

  2. The Enterprise team will continue to be a primary consumer of openedx-filters, so we have a vested interest in its long-term health and maintenance.

  3. Core contributor status will allow me to merge our own pull requests and assist with community contributions without burdening existing maintainers.

  4. This will enable faster iteration cycles for critical features and fixes needed by enterprise customers.

I commit to actively reviewing community PRs, and maintaining code quality standards. I am seeking feedback by May 7th (but let me know if this time period needs to be extended). Thank you so much! :sparkles:

Hi @kmiller1 - per OEP-54: Core Contributors — Open edX Proposals 1.0 documentation, would you mind making one thread per person?

The sponsor or organic candidate posts a new public nomination thread on Discourse, in the Core Contributor discussion space (one nomination thread per candidate, per role).

Thank you for this, I amended this post to just be my own nomination, and I will ask Troy to make his own post.

Kira is great, +1.
