Seeking Maintainers for edx-platform Dependencies

Hello Everyone,

I’m currently seeking maintainers for the following repositories that are dependencies of edx-platform.

  • openedx/django-config-models
  • openedx/edx-rest-api-client
  • openedx/edx-proctoring
  • openedx/edx-search - @Ali_Salman29 nominated
  • openedx/edx-when - @qasimgulzar interested
  • openedx/crowdsourcehinter
  • openedx/tinymce-language-selector
  • openedx/django-multi-email-field
  • openedx/django-require - @kmccormick interested
  • openedx/xblock-lti-consumer - @FarazM interested
  • openedx/django-user-tasks

If you are interested in being a maintainer of any of these repositories, please post here to express your interest. Most of these repos have had minimal changes for a while so we just need help with routine maintenance to keep them secure and up-to-date.

Reminder: You don’t need to be a current Core Contributor on a repo to volunteer to maintain it but you do still need to be well versed in the tech and be able to show that via work in other repos with a similar stack.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here as well.

I can take on openedx/django-require, with the intent of just keeping it on life support until I can figure out how to rip it out of edx-platform.

@qasimgulzar it looks like we’ll have a maintaner for edx-search with Ali Salman’s nomination. Would you be willing to take on edx-rest-api-client or django-user-tastks instead along with edx-when?

@FarazM just making note here that you are interested in taking on xblock-lti-consumer and have created feat: drop Python 3.8 and add Python 3.12 support by Faraz32123 · Pull Request #514 · openedx/xblock-lti-consumer · GitHub to start showing some history over there to take on future nomination.

Hi, I’d like to take up the maintenance of edx-rest-api-client and django-user-tasks and django-config-models packages if they’ve not been assigned to anyone yet.
