Conduct and Caliber
Of particular relevance to 2 of 3 C’s of the CC program is this OSPR to add a support for a regional Arabic translation to the platform, wherein Farhaan discussed in detail the implications of adding another Arabic translation to the platform with concerned community members at Appsembler. The reviewers’ decision was to reject the OSPR and avoid splitting the effort of maintaining multiple Arabic locales, which Farhaan discussed with the client and thus attained their assistance in improving the main Arabic translation set. This was the best outcome all around, and provides a great example of how to find compromises between specific site operator requests and the needs of the broader community.
Currently, Farhaan is leading the Visual Problem Editor project, which is the remaining piece of the BD-14 Content Libraries and Editing project which he also took over project lead for. This work is being implemented in edx/frontend-lib-content-components, see his submitted OSPRs and reviewed OSPRs.
As a member of OpenCraft, Farhaan would be committing to 20 hours / month.
